2020 High Plains Organic Conference

Call for Poster Presentations

We would like to invite all students and other participants to present posters on Thursday February 27th 2020 during the 7th Annual High Plains Organic Farming Conference held in the Pathfinder Building Conference Room of Laramie County Community College in Cheyenne, WY.

Topics on organic production, economics, marketing, or other aspects relevant to organic farming or ranching, such as livestock management, tillage, cover crops, weed management, soil fertility and health are highly encouraged. The research does not have to specifically address certified organic production but should present information usable by organic producers.

Examples include:

  • Highlights of on-going studies

  • Preliminary results of short or long-term projects

  • Showcasing farm operations or businesses

  • Outlining “how-to” for technical organic farming procedures

Lightening Talks: Graduate students will introduce the content of their posters during one-minute Lightening Talks to the conference audience at 9:30 am, immediately before the morning break and poster session. Authors should be present at the posters after lunch and during the afternoon break as well.

Poster dimensions: We can accommodate 36- by 36-inch posters. For larger posters authors will need to bring their own stand, or poster board and easel.

Prize Money: Winners of the best student poster presentations will be announced by the end of the day and awarded $150 for 1st place, $100 for 2nd place and $50 for 3rd place.

To enter: Send a short abstract/summary (~200 words) to Urszula Norton (unorton@uwyo.edu) by Friday, February 7, 2020.
